Effective August 21, 2026 · Data Not Collected
The Metronome does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no advertising trackers, and no third-party analytics. The app you install from the App Store sends nothing at all — everything it does happens entirely on your device, with or without an internet connection. The website version counts three anonymous events, described in section 03.
Nothing that could identify you. The Metronome has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not gather your name, email, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or any other personal data — ever, on any surface.
The installed app transmits nothing. Not on launch, not while you play, not ever. It has no analytics and contacts no server of ours, which is why its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected. The only thing that leaves your device is what you deliberately share yourself.
The website version at metronome-app-eta.vercel.app counts three anonymous events so we can tell whether the tool actually helps people practise. That is spelled out in full in section 03 — it carries no identity, and it does not exist in the app.
The app can ask for microphone access only when you use a feature that listens to you play — the Time-Feel Inspector and the loop recorder. When you do:
Your preferences and practice data are saved locally on your device using standard on-device storage, so the app remembers your setup between sessions. This includes things like your chosen theme, tempo and time-signature setups, saved presets, and your practice-minutes history.
This data stays on your device. We cannot see it or access it, and it is not backed up to us. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, permanently removes it.
Anonymous usage counts — website only. When you use The Metronome in a web browser, it sends three tiny anonymous events to our own server — “opened”, “first play”, “still playing after three minutes” — so we can tell whether the tool is actually helping people practise. Each visit gets a random id that is never stored on your device and cannot connect two visits. No cookies, no account, no personal details, never your patterns or notes. That’s the whole list. The app installed from the App Store sends none of these.
The app makes no requests to any third party. Everything it needs — the audio engine, the drum loops, and the typefaces — is served from the app itself, so no outside company ever sees your device or your IP address because of this app. There are no ad networks, no analytics providers, and no data brokers.
Previously the typefaces were loaded from Google Fonts, which meant Google's servers saw a request from your device. They are now bundled with the app, and that request is gone.
The Metronome is safe for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Because we collect nothing, we collect nothing from children.
Consistent with everything above, our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected." The developer does not collect any data from this app.
If this policy ever changes, we will post the updated version here and revise the effective date at the top. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
